2026 Mercedes-Benz Lineup: The CLA-Class Goes Electric

Luxury car buyers often want the same thing in different ways: exclusivity, advanced tech, and a car that feels built around them. Mercedes-Benz leans into that idea for 2026 with a lineup that emphasizes personalization, new digital features, and a wider mix of electric, hybrid, and gasoline powertrains.

The biggest story is the new CLA-Class, but Mercedes is also updating the C-Class, CLE-Class, E-Class, EQE-Class, EQS-Class, S-Class, AMG GT, and SL-Class. The result is that the broad Mercedes-Benz lineup becomes more flexible and better tailored to individual tastes than before.

CLA-Class

The all-new 2026 CLA-Class arrives with a sharper design, updated lighting, and illuminated stars in the grille. It is larger than the model it replaces, with a wheelbase that is about 2 inches longer.

The first version to reach the market is the electric CLA, built on an 800-volt architecture. The rear-wheel-drive CLA 250+ with EQ Technology makes 268 HP and 247 lb-ft of torque, while the dual-motor CLA 350 with EQ Technology produces 349 horsepower and 379 lb-ft of torque. With an 85-kWh battery pack, Mercedes expects an EPA range of up to 374 miles on a full charge.

A hybrid version will also join the range. It uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 188 horsepower, paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. An integrated electric motor adds another 27 horsepower and helps the CLA move on electric power at low speeds.

Inside, the new CLA introduces Mercedes’ latest cabin layout, including an available Superscreen that spans the dashboard. When equipped, it includes a 10.3-inch driver display, a 14.0-inch center screen, and a 14.0-inch passenger display under one glass panel.

Mercedes is also sending off the outgoing CLA45 S with a Final Edition model finished in Manufaktur Mountain Grey Magno and dressed up with black-and-yellow graphics, 19-inch wheels, yellow brake accents, and exclusive interior details. For those eyeing a collector’s piece like this send-off or earlier CLA generations, handpicked used Mercedes-Benz models can be a great option – performance heritage and immediate availability.

C-Class and CLE-Class

The 2026 C-Class gets a lighter update, but Mercedes is still adding useful extras. Nineteen-inch wheels are now offered at no extra cost, and the AMG Line Plus package brings 19-inch AMG wheels, a panoramic roof, and a rear spoiler. The cabin gains a new Black Fine Structure center console, along with MBUX Entertainment Plus and a surround-view camera.

The CLE-Class also gets small but welcome changes. The coupe now offers an Engineering Package with 2.5-degree rear-axle steering and adaptive suspension, plus an available 360-degree camera. AMG versions add a Manufaktur Edition, while both AMG and non-AMG models can be fitted with the new Black Fine Structure center console.

E-Class and EQ Models

The standout E-Class update is the new Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid Wagon. It combines a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with an electric motor for up to 577 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, or 604 horsepower with the AMG Dynamic Plus package and Race Start mode. It rides on 21-inch wheels and includes standard rear-axle steering and AMG Ride Control suspension.

The EQE-Class becomes more affordable for 2026, with a lower starting price and new trim names. Mercedes also increases output slightly to 315 horsepower and makes a NACS adapter standard, which should improve public charging convenience. The EQS-Class gets similar charging and software updates, along with new audio experiences during acceleration.

S-Class

Mercedes continues to treat the S-Class as its showcase for customization. For 2026, buyers can choose from 40 new exterior paint colors and 25 new Nappa leather options, while AMG and Maybach variants get 50 more exterior shades.

New comfort-focused options include an Executive Rear Seat Package Plus with folding tables, wireless charging, and a heated cupholder. Other additions include a new 19-inch wheel design, a rear badging delete option, and AMG carbon-fiber trim on certain models. The Maybach S-Class also adds the S680 Edition Emerald Isle, limited to just 25 units.

AMG GT and SL-Class

The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT gains the limited APXGP Edition, inspired by the upcoming Formula 1 film. It wears a black-and-gold finish, 21-inch forged wheels, illuminated sill plates, and gold stitching throughout the cabin. Production is limited to 52 units.

The SL-Class gets expanded Manufaktur paint choices and updated interior color combinations, while the biggest addition is the new Mercedes-Maybach SL680. It marks the first time Maybach has offered an SL-Class, and it focuses more on comfort than the AMG version.

Mercedes-Benz’s 2026 lineup delivers on luxury’s promise: cars that match your exact vision with cutting-edge tech and electrified power. From the game-changing CLA electric sedan to the comfort-first Maybach SL680, it’s a portfolio built for those who demand more – and now they can have it.
